A KLM flight from Amsterdam to Los Angeles had to turn around in the air, due to only one toilet remaining in use.

Flight KL601, operated by a Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner, left Amsterdam on February 12 40 minutes late to Los Angeles.

The duration of the flight is about 11 hours, but a little more than an hour after the flight, the crew informed about several services that are not in service.

The KLM Dreamliner has 9 toilets - 1 in the front, 6 in the middle and 2 in the back.

According to one of the passengers, the captains decided to turn around, but eventually changed their minds and continued the flight.

But after another hour of flight, with only one toilet in service for more than 200 passengers, the pilots had no choice but to return to Amsterdam.

Aircraft are required to have a certain number of services in good working order

Airplane toilets can be unusable for many reasons: being clogged by someone throwing up in the sink, or by throwing paper or other objects in the sink, or on the toilet seat.

Sometimes, when the waste tank is full, or when there is a problem with the tank sensor that provides an incorrect signal, causing all the flushes connected to that tank to not work.
