Many people are familiar with a trick that is used when cell phones are wet.
Those affected need a bowl of rice in which to place the cell phone.
The rice grains are intended to remove the liquid and thus save the cell phone.
At least that's the theory.

However, Apple is now warning against exactly this - and thus also represents the opinion of several other companies, such as Mediamarkt, Hama and Vodafone.
Apple recommends against rice solution
On the official website, the tech giant from the USA describes some methods that should not be used on cell phones or their accessories that have gotten wet.
“Don’t put your iPhone in a bag of rice as small grains of rice could damage it,” advises Apple.
It is not the first time that the company has given its customers tips.
Apple recently sent a warning to iPhone users.
Two other options that many would probably think of spontaneously are therefore not good methods of saving the wet iPhone: Firstly, Apple advises against using heat sources such as a hairdryer.
On the other hand, no foreign objects - such as cotton swabs - should be inserted into the connector (the charging socket).

No, users shouldn't give up hope so quickly.
However, time and patience are two aspects that those affected should bring with them.
In order to save the device, Apple gives its users some tips.

First of all, the iPhone should be gently tapped against your hand with the charging socket facing downwards, the company writes on its website.
It should then be placed in a dry area with airflow for at least half an hour.
If these two tips are not successful, Apple recommends a longer period of time.
The phone should then be left in a dry area with airflow for up to a full day.
By the way, Mediamarkt also gives the tip to switch off your cell phone immediately after it gets wet.
