From today, the app dedicated to the Nutrinfom Battery is operational in thousands of sales points of the companies of Federdistribuzione, Ancc-Coop, Ancd Conad, with communication initiatives aimed at the millions of Italians who go shopping every day.
The large-scale retail trade thus intends to promote the Italian proposal of nutritional labelling, created to help consumers make informed and conscious choices at the table, following a healthy and balanced diet.
The initiative is the subject of a memorandum of understanding between Distribuzione Moderna and three ministries.
In fact, in the coming months, the European Commission's decision to adopt a single labeling system in all countries is expected.
the NutrInform Battery is the Italian answer to traffic light systems that classify foods into good (green dot) and bad (red dot), without taking into account useful information on recommended portions and real nutritional intake of foods.
The app, simple and intuitive, to download for free and always have at hand, allows you to provide the nutritional impact of the foods we consume during the day, suggesting the consumption of appropriate portions, combining the different foods in the correct way.
Allows you to access nutritional information, using the codes present on thousands of products on the market.
"This is an important contribution that the sector wants to make in favor of agri-food and consumers - say Federdistribuzione, Ancc-Coop and Ancd Conad, the three associations that signed the Memorandum of Understanding with the government - we are faced with a question of safeguarding our food excellences and respecting correct information in people's purchasing choices. Our commitment will therefore be to promote in the coming months the use of an innovative and digitalized tool, which works on product coding standards already in use and which will be able to accompany all of us in conscious consumption of food".
