The plan that will jump-start the city of Kfar Kara: The national committee for the planning and construction of preferred housing complexes announced today (Thursday) its decision to submit a plan for the development of a new quarter in Kfar Kara - which includes approximately 12,000 new apartments and hundreds of thousands of square meters of mixed uses.
The plan, which was promoted on by the Ministry of Construction and Housing and the local authority is on a total area of approximately 2,400 dunams and is located in the western part of Kfar Kara. It includes approximately 12,172 new housing units that will be built in residential buildings of up to 6 floors. Of the total housing units, approximately 2,434 will be allocated for apartments The wide range of housing units corresponds to the settlement's status as a developing city and enables a variety of housing solutions of small and large apartments, suitable for a variety of populations.
In addition to the housing units, the plan offers 105,000 square meters of mixed-use commercial space, an employment center in the southwest of the plan, and employment areas Mixed uses in the scope of 185,000 square meters and industrial areas in the scope of 42,000 square meters.
Also, the plan includes about 210 dunams of open areas and preservation of the Barkan stream, forest areas and agricultural areas, and proposes the construction of a peripheral promenade that will serve the district and the residents of the area.
In terms of transportation, the plan emphasizes the importance of connectivity and accessibility of the district and the settlement in general to the national traffic system.
