A change is planned on the measures regarding "the regulation of the seizure of smartphones".

This was announced on Radio 24 by the Minister of Justice Carlo Nordio, who adds: "today in the cell phone there are not only conversations, there is an entire life, therefore this cannot be placed in the hands of a public prosecutor except with a signature takes possession of it and perhaps afterwards does not monitor its disclosure enough".

"Far be it from me to comment on the people involved in the affair because when you are oppressed by the pain of such a dramatic situation every expression is understandable", but "mine is a purely legal criticism", a question of correct procedure, which "now they are following because they have accepted our advice."

Thus the Minister of Justice Carlo Nordio on Radio 24 regarding the controversy that arose with the father of Ilaria Salis, the 39-year-old detained in Budapest, who considers the minister's declarations on the management of the case by the family's lawyers inadmissible.

"I received Ilaria Salis's father twice and I also hugged him. However - added the minister - facts are facts and since the Italian government and perhaps this ministry has been accused of having done nothing, here we must respond not in emotional but procedural terms. The international procedure did not allow - as not so much the family members but the Hungarian lawyer did - to accept the request he made. He asked the Hungarian judge for house arrest in Italy: this is absurd , it would be like asking a Roman to be placed under house arrest in Hungary. This is not foreseen in the procedure for activating house arrest in Italy. The procedure was very clear: it was necessary to ask for house arrest immediately in Hungary and then from there the international regulations for the which would have been possible, provided that this request had been accepted by the sovereign jurisdiction of Hungary, to activate the system".

Nordio clarified that his criticism was 'a purely legal criticism, but I reiterate it, it is not my fault if the Hungarian lawyer implemented a procedure that was inadmissible, with all due respect for the father's pain.

And in fact now they are following it because they have accepted our advice"
