Posy Simmonds, a comic book star in Beaubourg (IVe)
At 78 years old, British author Posy Simmonds has just engraved her name in the Pantheon of comics, alongside, among others, Franquin, Moebius, Gotlib, by being crowned, at the end of January, grand prize of the city of Angoulême 2024 At the Center Pompidou (Paris, 4th), a free exhibition, “Drawing Literature”, retraces his long career, through numerous original plates but also documents and videos.
The chronological route is organized around five themed rooms.
It begins with his childhood and youth, spent partly in Paris, at the Sorbonne.
It continued with her success in press cartoons, since in 1972 she became the official cartoonist for the famous daily newspaper The Guardian.
