"The fight against cancer is a priority of mine, of the Ministry of Health and of the Government and of the entire Parliament which, I want to reiterate, has also given an important signal to those who have recovered from cancer, by approving the law on oncological oblivion, which I strongly supported , so that healing from a medical point of view also corresponds to legal and social healing".
The Minister of Health, Orazio Schillaci, said this at the event promoted by Fiagop at the Chamber of Deputies, on the occasion of the World Day against Pediatric Cancer.
"This is an achievement of civilization and an important step forward also for young people cured of a tumor diagnosed in childhood - highlighted the minister - As also underlined by Fiagop - which together with Aieop actively contributed to the definition of this rule - it is estimated that in Europe there are between 300,000 and 500,000 people who have recovered from a tumor that affected them in childhood, of which around 50,000 in Italy, with an average age of 25-29 years. In the fight against tumors - he added - everyone's collaboration is needed: from the institutions, to the school, to the associations".
