There are certain things that remind you of a certain time in your life, for example your youth.

The following books will certainly do that.

1 / 10The “Goosebumps” series (original “Goosebumps”) by the American writer RL Stine is one of the best-selling book series in the world.

The scary stories for children and young people have been translated into a total of 32 languages.

The first volume was published in 1992. There is now a lot of merchandise available for the books.

For example, board games, audio books, video games, television series and films.

2 / 10The “Naughty Girls, Naughty Books” series appealed to many young girls.

The books were written by different authors.

What they all had in common was that they mainly appealed to heterosexual girls back then.

It was about, among other things, the first kiss with a boy, friendship or trouble at school.

Titles included “Love, Chaos, School Trip”, “Double Somersault with Kiss” and “Math, Stress and Lovesickness”.

There are also films from the series.

The first “Naughty Girls” film was released in cinemas in 2007.

Emilia Schüle had a leading role.

3 / 10Paul Maar has inspired children for generations.

The story about Sams and Martin Taschenbier started in 1973. The first film “Das Sams” was broadcast in 2001, followed by two more films.

4 / 10 “Hanni and Nanni” was written by the English author Enid Blyton.

The protagonists are twins and live in a girls' boarding school.

There they experience adventures.

There are radio plays, an anime series and films from the “Hanni and Nanni” world.

5 / 10Many generations are accompanied by Harry Potter.

“Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone” was first released in Germany in 1998.

Since then, there has hardly been anyone who doesn't know Harry, Ron and Hermione.

6 / 10“Eragon” by Christopher Paolini was an integral part of every bookstore in the noughties.

Then came, as usually happens, a film adaptation - Eragon was released in cinemas in 2006 and flopped.

7 / 10Team Edward or Jacob?

Stephenie Meyer created the “Twilight” world.

The protagonist Bella falls in love with the vampire Edward.

But there is also Jacob, the good friend who can transform into a wolf.

The first book was published in Germany in 2006.

Several more parts followed.

8 / 10Living on a mountain of rubbish and “mumbling around” all day.

Instead of cleaning, just make everything dirty.

Children loved “The Olchis” by Erhard Dietl and they probably still do today.

9 / 10Tim, Karl, Klößchen and Gaby are TKKG.

TKKG is a German youth book series and a radio play series based on it by Stefan Wolf.

There are also games, puzzles and your own detective downloads.

10 / 10Sprotte, Frieda, Melanie and Trude are “The Wild Chickens” – a real gang, just like the boys, the pygmies.

Author Cornelia Funke came up with the story at the request of her editor at the time.

The aim was to write a book in which there were no fairies, ghosts and pirates, the author informs on her website.

Reading together at school or browsing in the city or school library - this way you could immerse yourself in foreign worlds together or alone.

Be it a romance novel, a detective novel or books with a scary factor like the “Goosebumps” series by RL Stine.

When you see the old book covers now, years later, you can feel melancholic.
