Another Olympic pass for Italnuoto at the world championships underway in Doha.
The women's 4x200 freestyle does not qualify for the final on the fifth day of pool competitions, but flies to the Paris Games: Sofia Morini Giulia Ramatelli, Emma Virgina Menicucci and Giulia D'Innocenzo are tenth in 8'00"19, with one elimination with a bittersweet taste, because it guarantees the pass for the Games. "We tried as always to get into the final - explains Morini - We hoped that finishing the heat among the top four would have been indispensable". The debutant Ramatelli continues: "I'm happy with the swim, obviously sorry not to be among the best eight". In the 100m freestyle Chiara Tarantino reached the semi-final with the twelfth time of 54"85 which, however, is far from the Olympic limit (53"5). Francesca Fangio advances in the 200m breaststroke, while Sara Franceschi stops Lorenzo Mora eliminated in the 200 backstroke.
