But would have left straight away, taking a return flight the same evening.
Since then, the Duke of Sussex has not spoken publicly about his father's illness.

“I’m grateful I got to spend time with him.”
Informed of his father's cancer, which was officially announced on February 5, Prince Harry decided to go see him in person, as quickly as possible.
“I jumped on a plane and went to see him as soon as I could,” he told journalist Will Reeve during a visit to Whistler, Canada.
Before adding: “Listen, I love my family.
I'm grateful that I was able to get on a plane and go see him and spend time with him."
If the Duke of Sussex did not wish to say more about the illness affecting his father, he nevertheless expressed the wish to visit him again soon.

“I have other trips planned around the UK, and I will visit family as much as possible,” he stressed.
Asked whether this news could signal a possible rapprochement between him and the Windsors, Prince Harry replied: “Yes, I’m sure of it.”
He thus drew a parallel between his situation and that of relatives of Invictus Games athletes.
“In all these families, I see on a daily basis, once again, the strength of the family unit that comes together,” he maintained.
So, yes, I think any illness brings families together.
I see it again and again, and it makes me very happy.”
“They have an incredible sense of humor.”
An interview during which Prince Harry also spoke about his own children.
“They both have an incredible sense of humor, they make us laugh and ground us every day, like most kids do,” he said.
I am very grateful to be a father.”
The Duke of Sussex also revealed that he was considering applying for American citizenship.
Asked what was stopping him from doing so, he replied: “I have no idea.
American citizenship is a thought that has crossed my mind, but is certainly not a high priority for me at the moment.”
Prince Harry and his wife are in fact in Canada for a three-day visit, on the occasion of the One Year to Go event, for preparations for the Invictus Games 2025.
