The Competition and Market Authority has imposed a fine of 900 thousand euros on the Italian Energy Service.
The Antitrust makes this known, explaining that the investigation has made it possible to ascertain that, since July 2022, the company has concluded contracts and activated unsolicited supplies in the absence of signature or consent from the consumer, also requesting the payment of undue fees.
"Furthermore, in some cases the Italian Energy Service - explains the note - did not send or sent the contractual documentation late and imposed obstacles to the exercise of the right of reconsideration, thus violating articles 20, 24 and 25 of the Consumer Code. These incorrect conducts caused failure to comply, following the unrequested activation of electricity and gas contracts, with the obligation to guarantee consumers both the reinstatement of the contract with the previous supplier and the right to remain unharmed in relation to any amounts invoiced".
