An evening worthy of a fairy tale.

On February 8, the traditional Austrian Debutante Ball invited 160 young girls and their partners to the Vienna Opera.

On the program: formal dance and dress code to the nines.

All the debutantes, from the Austrian bourgeoisie, were thus dressed in a white dress (selected by them) and a pair of white gloves.

From mermaid cuts to romantic pieces characterized by balloon shoulder pads, including princess dresses borrowed from Cinderella, there was everything.

Same thing for the materials which created a harmonious mix of satin, lace and tulle.

Wearing a bun, the debutantes all wore a tiara signed by Swarovski, a partner of the Ball for over seventy years.

A jewelry accessory inspired by Austrian imperial jewelry.

On the men's side, white tie and black suit were required.

Just before the Ball, a dinner was held at the Sacher hotel, a two-minute walk from the Opera.

The precise evening began at 6:30 p.m. sharp.

Among the guests, we noted the - curious - presence of Priscilla Presley and that of Austrian President Alexander Van der Bellen.

The Ball opened with the notes of the national anthem, followed by performances by Lithuanian mezzo-soprano Elīna Garanča and Polish tenor Piotr Beczała, who is used to performing on the biggest international stages.

After a quarter of an hour of performance between dance, singing and orchestra, all the guests of the Opera gathered to waltz.

The room offered, on five floors, various evenings able to adapt to the musical preferences of the guests.

The splendor continued until five in the morning.
