US producer prices rose more than expected in January amid sharp increases in service costs, which could amplify concerns about rising inflation.
The producer price index rose 0.3% last month after falling a revised 0.1% in December, the Labor Department's Bureau of Labor Statistics said.
Analysts' forecasts were for an increase of 0.1%.
The increase ended three consecutive monthly declines in the index.
