After a slow first half and with few dangerous actions - with the exception of Milinkovic's error exploited by Piccoli but promptly saved by Masina - a more aggressive Torino returned to the pitch after the restart and broke the deadlock with a goal from outside the area by Bellanova.
Lecce remains with 10 men due to Pongračić's double yellow card, Zapata shortly afterwards doubles the lead following a corner kick.
2 to 0 for Torino who continues their streak of consecutive results: the Granata have not lost since December 29th against Fiorentina.
Lecce's streak of negative results away from home continues, this is the sixth consecutive away defeat of the season, with just one goal scored.
D'Aversa's team is now in 13th position with Frosinone down by just one point and with a game in hand.
Torino, on the other hand, overtakes Napoli, moving into 9th position at 36, one point less than Lazio and Fiorentina.
Turin will return to the field as early as Thursday 22nd for the recovery of the 21st matchday of Serie A against Lazio, then will go to the Olimpico in Monday evening's postponement against Roma.
Lecce will host Inter on Sunday at 6pm.
