The arrest of Christian Sodano, the twenty-seven year old Marshal of the Financial Police accused of the double murder of Nicoletta Zomparelli and Renèe Amato, mother and sister of his girlfriend Desyrèe, who managed to save herself by running away, has been confirmed.
The bloody event involving the two women occurred last Tuesday afternoon in Cisterna di Latina.
"He is clearly very saddened and destroyed after such a tragedy", declared his lawyers Lucio Teson and Leonardo Palombi at the end of the interrogation to validate the arrest held in the prison in via Aspromonte in Latina, before the judge for preliminary investigations Giuseppe Cario.
According to the lawyers, the man "has followed what he declared before the public prosecutor the other night. Now we are waiting for the results of the order".
As regards the material found in a backpack inside Sodano's car, such as plastic bags, gloves, adhesive tape, handcuffs and a telescopic truncheon, according to the lawyers these are "objects which he uses for the boat, given that it carries out fishing, used for other purposes".
In the town affected by this brutal violence, a candlelight vigil will take place today in memory of Nicoletta and Renèe.
The mayor Valentino Mantini announced that on the day on which the funeral will be celebrated, citizen mourning will be called and the Municipality of Cisterna di Latina will become a civil party in the criminal trial
