The 22-year-old Italian-Argentine number 76 in the world was eliminated 6-4 7-5 by the 23-year-old Argentine number 30 in the ranking Sebastian Baez.
Darderi had eliminated Baez only five days ago in the semi-final of the ATP 250 in Cordoba, also in Argentina.

Tonight in the quarterfinals in Benos Aires it's the turn of the Italian Andrea Vavassori, who will face the Spaniard no. 2 in the world Carlos Alcaraz.
In the meantime, Vavassori has already achieved a semi-final in Buenos Aires, in the doubles paired with Simone Bolelli.
In the quarter-finals, the two Italian finalists at the Australian Open beat the hosts Guillermo Duran and Tomas Martin Etcheverry 6-7(6/8) 6-2 10-6 yesterday.
Tomorrow they will challenge the Colombian NicolasBarrientos and the Brazilian Rafael Matos.
