Thus the president of the Italian System 118 Society (Sis 118), Mario Balzanelli regarding the increase in protection in Italy in the fight against the synthetic opioid Fentanyl.
Among the various effects of taking it there is a marked euphoric action which can lead to sudden cardiac arrest.
"The 118 territorial emergency system - Balzanelli tells ANSA - can be called upon to carry out rescue interventions for very serious emergency situations related to the use of Fentanyl. In these cases, the administration, such as specific antidote, of naloxone, by our medicalized and nursed crews, an antidote - underlines Balzanelli - which is never missing on board our ambulances".
