These words immediately come to the mind of the visitor who enters the completely renovated rooms of the Hôtel d'Assézat to discover the splendors of the collection of Georges Bemberg (1915-2011).
An art enthusiast who set his sights in 1994 on this jewel of heritage, built in the heart of Toulouse between 1555 and 1557 according to the plans of Nicolas Bachelier, with the aim of presenting its (already) priceless treasures to the public.
A few hours before the reopening, impatience was already palpable among the residents, who crowded into the charming loggia, decorated with an 18th century replica of the
Apollo of the Belvedere,
which provides access to the museum.
