The supermarket chain has now issued another recall and is warning against consuming a certain organic product.
The article affected is “EDEKA Organic Falafel Oriental” in the 200g pack with the best-before date of April 12, 2024. In a statement, Edeka informs that the recall is “for reasons of preventative consumer protection”.
Accordingly, the defect was discovered during an internal routine inspection.
It turned out that the item in question was not heated correctly, which means that premature spoilage cannot be ruled out.
Edeka therefore warns that consumption of the product is not recommended.
The organic product was sold in Edeka and Marktkauf branches throughout Germany, with the exception of Schleswig-Holstein, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and Hamburg.
Edeka comes in second place in the ranking of the best supermarkets.

As Edeka further informs in the announcement, other items or best-before dates are not affected.
The affected product was immediately withdrawn from sale.
Consumers who have already purchased the item can return the item to the stores for a refund of the purchase price, even without presenting the receipt.
