"I express solidarity with the Honorable Lia Quartapelle. What the Russian embassy defines as 'creativity' corresponds instead to the prerogative of a parliamentarian of a free and democratic country like Italy which cannot and must not be questioned".
This was declared by the President of the Chamber of Deputies, Lorenzo Fontana.
"It is not an attack on me but on the Italian Parliament. All political forces should react unitedly, yet I have received no messages of closeness from the centre-right. It is on these ambiguities that Putin plays".
- MP Lia Quartapelle had said shortly before, returning to the attack she received yesterday from the Russian embassy for having presented a parliamentary question on the presence of three Italian neo-fascist representatives at the commemoration of Daria Dugin in the embassy in Rome. "It's not the first time - had said - that the Russian embassy is trying to interfere in the activity of the Italian Parliament and, I fear, it will not be the last. Unless all the political forces of the country, some of which are blind to the damage caused by Putin to the fundamental principles of freedom and justice, they do not react unitedly in defense of our space".
