Are your roses wilting in the vase faster than expected?
In addition to the wrong water, there may be other reasons behind it that are easy to fix.
Whether for Valentine's Day, a birthday or another occasion: a bouquet of roses is a popular gift and brings color to every home.
But sometimes the joy doesn't last long: if you take care of it incorrectly, the flowers will quickly droop their heads.
Below we will show you the reasons behind this and the tips to help roses last particularly long in the vase.

If roses hang their heads, this usually indicates stale or too cold water.
Then you should quickly treat your flowers to fresh, room temperature water.
But the wrong location can also be a cause.
Roses don't like drafts.
A place next to the fruit basket is also extremely bad for cut flowers, because the ripening gases from the fruit cause roses to wilt more quickly.
How roses last longer in a vase
To ensure that the rose bouquet or Valentine's rose stays fresh and strong for as long as possible, proper care is crucial.
According to
NDR.
de Roses last about seven days in optimal conditions.
And this is how it works:
Trimming:
Cut the stems of the roses diagonally with a sharp knife (unlike tulips, which require a straight cut).
About two to three centimeters is enough.
The large cutting surface allows the flower to absorb more water and therefore lasts longer.
It is best to renew the cut with every water change so that bacteria and other germs cannot affect the flower.
Water:
Roses love lukewarm water, which should be changed daily.
In cold water they suffer from cold shock and hang their heads.
Also make sure there are no leaves in the water and that you use a clean vase.
Otherwise, bacteria will multiply rapidly and damage the flowers.
Location:
Roses need a lot of light, which is why a sunny, bright location is right for them.
However, avoid drafts.
