A supermarket customer proudly presented his deposit return on Reddit.

He received several hundred euros in deposit back, which he said was a store record.

Munich – Posts from people who brag about their high deposit vouchers keep appearing on social media.

A supermarket customer now showed a particularly high bill on Reddit.

Reddit user posts photos of a high deposit - how did the sum come about?

The supermarket customer presented his “pride” and showed the total amount in the photo.

As can be seen there, he had received 470.75 euros from the supermarket for the deposit bottles he returned.

This large sum came about through 283 items that he is said to have delivered in one fell swoop.

When returning, the supermarket customer must have returned a lot more than bottles and cans.

Observant users may have noticed that even with a deposit of 25 cents per item, the supermarket customer would still be nowhere near €470.75.

With a deposit value of 25 cents per item, the Reddit user would have received 70.75 euros if, for example, he had returned 283 cans.

He did not answer in the comments how the remaining 400 euros came about.

Reddit users pay their respects to the supermarket customer

One Reddit user found the amount too high to believe it was authentic: “That’s a final bill from the store, isn’t it?” Other users, on the other hand, were happy about the high deposit and were amused by it: “94x ban on entry!

Respect,” one commented.

Another didn't want to walk around with so much money in his wallet and, as a cashier, would have simply offered to transfer it.

A majority of Reddit users simply paid their respects to the supermarket customer.

One person wondered how long he had waited in line at the machine.

Although the supermarket customer did not provide any information, one person estimated that “the cashier definitely had to work overtime.” Another also felt sorry for the staff: He asked how the cashier had reacted to this amount.

The prompt answer: “Sarcastic, was a store record.” (
