Highlights: The return of Noé Preszow and Dominique A sings Patrick Modiano. In thirteen vignettes, this meeting between jazz and literature produces a real little miracle. The resulting record is a charming surprise. Accompanied by experienced jazz instrumentalists, the singer performs his pastilles with great intensity. Along the way, he meets drummer Sacha Toorop, a companion from his first tours. It was in studios located in the south of France that sound engineer Gérard de Haro captured these moments of grace.

LE NUC PLUS ULTRA - The second album from the committed Belgian singer and a poetic adventure with Dominique A are on the program this week.

Prechof

by Noé Preszow

This young Brussels resident greatly impressed us on stage, both with his enthusiasm and his art of throwing out words like so many warning signals.

Alas, his first album did not live up to the intensity he displayed on stage.

Too wise, too domesticated.

The author reconnected the guitars, relaxed the interpretation when starting the recording of this second album which marks a real progression.

The fever and restlessness of this singer-songwriter are illustrated in alert and indocile songs.

This mixed breed makes a welcome rant against the trivialization of far-right ideas and thunders against a world that is really not going well.

But it turns out to be very accurate and touching in a more sensitive register, revealing a gentleness and sensitivity that we felt was emerging.

Between rock, pop and French song, Noé Preszow has not decided, and so much the better.

This gives even more depth to an album which makes it one of the greatest promises of the season.

To be continued at all costs.

Memento

of Dominique A and Jean-François Mondot

This album entitled

Memento

is a singular project , designed by the journalist and jazz critic Jean-François Mondot, who managed to combine his love for music with his passion for Patrick Modiano.

In full confinement, the man embarked on a daring undertaking: “translating the fog of Modiano into songs”.

He rereads all the 2014 Nobel Literature novels, and assembles texts that are imbued with their climate.

The good idea is to send them to Dominique A, himself a fervent admirer of the novelist.

Although very active and very busy, Dominique A agrees to put them to music and perform them.

In thirteen vignettes, this meeting between jazz and literature produces a real little miracle: translating the little music of Patrick Modiano into songs.
