One of the two Moroccan prisoners who escaped from Trani prison this afternoon has been found and arrested.
This is 24-year-old Marwan Bassim, who the carabinieri tracked down at the Barletta station.
The man is now in the barracks.
The search now continues to find the other fugitive, 29-year-old Abdalake El Kadhir.
In the afternoon the two were in the walking area of the prison's reception department and climbed over the rear wall of the structure.
They then dispersed into the surrounding countryside.
The last escape from the Trani prison dates back to August 2021 when Daniele Arciuli and Giuseppe De Noya escaped: the first was arrested after two months, the other turned himself in a few days later.
