Eight people, irregular migrants with nowhere to go, in Milan, broke into a villa, uninhabited because it was being renovated, currently on break, barricading themselves inside and camping with a sleeping bag and food.
The owner herself discovered it, as she stopped by every now and then to take care of the garden.
The foreigners were arrested for illegal occupation.
The story began a few days ago, when the owner, passing by car in via Taramelli, in the residential Maggiolina district, noticed an ajar window, but thought it was an oversight on the part of the workers.
But then she noticed the presence of people, and she called the police.
The officers actually found the French window of the bedroom on the first floor from which they had entered the house using a ladder barricaded with wooden boards.
These are eight Moroccans, all irregularly in Italy, two aged 24, two aged 20, two aged 19, one aged 21 and one aged 33, three of whom have criminal records.
Inside, some fixtures and furniture were also damaged.
The real estate unit had been under renovation on several occasions since June 2023.
