The death of Lily, 15, at the end of January, shone the spotlight on the reception of minors from Child Welfare (ASE) in the hotel park.
The teenager was found hanged in a hotel in Puy-de-Dôme where she had been placed.
A drama supposed to never happen again: a decree published in the Official Journal this Sunday, February 18 completes the implementation of the Taquet law, dating from 2022, which prohibits from February 1, 2024 the placements of young people from the ASE in hotel.
“In these hotels, children are left to their own devices, vulnerable to prostitution and trafficking.
The educators rarely come by, the hoteliers give them food.
Not giving them socio-educational support is harming their future,” warned Perrine Goulet, MP (MoDem) for Nièvre and president of the Children’s Rights delegation.
