The Italian Davide Ghiotto, Olympic bronze medalist two years ago in Beijing, won the 10,000 meter race at the World Ice Skating Championships on the Olympic Oval in Calgary.
The 30-year-old from Vicenza therefore confirmed the title won last year in Holland, in Heerenveen.
Today the Italian also set the new Italian record for the distance, taking it from 12:41.35 to 12:38.32.
Silver to the Canadian Ted-Jan Bloemen, bronze to another home skater, Graeme Fish.
In these World Championships in Calgary, Ghiotto had already obtained a silver in the 5,000m event and gold in the team pursuit, with Michele Malfatti and AndreaGiovannini
