Two attempts to take over the communication network of El Al pilots were made in the last few days, when the company's planes passed over the Somali region on their way to and from Thailand.

According to the company, impoverished elements probably originating from Somalia have been trying for some time to sabotage the communication network of planes passing through this area, not necessarily El Al planes, and are trying to disrupt air traffic with wrong instructions on a specific frequency.

An El Al source told Wala!

Tourism, because "in Somalia there are communication interruptions all week, not only to El Al, and the officials have issued an instruction to all pilots that as soon as this happens on a certain frequency, not to listen to the instructions and switch to another communication method."

According to the same source, the hostile gourmets approached the El Al pilots twice, on two different flights from Thailand - from Phuket last Thursday and to Bangkok today (Sunday), but the pilots realized that these were not official instructions and switched to another communication network via satellite communication, and continued the flight.

"Our pilots are instructed in this matter and the problematic frequency, and how to handle the flight in a professional manner," added the same source.

According to him, it is not known for sure that it is the Houthis in Yemen, but other elements in the Somalia region.
