Pilots accept collective bargaining agreement with Lufthansa

According to dpa, this is what the details look like: According to Lufthansa, the approximately 5,200 pilots will receive at least 18 percent more money in several stages over the next three years.

Together with two flat-rate increases from the previous year, depending on the classification, this would result in salary increases of 25 to 50 percent over the total term of four and a half years.

A one-off payment of 3,000 euros was also agreed.

According to the dpa, additional agreements on working and standby times in the collective agreement as well as the abolition of a second tariff bar that was introduced years ago for newcomers are more important.

According to dpa, a solution is also being adopted for 150 captains of the subsidiary Germanwings, which was hired in 2020, and who are moving to the parent company Lufthansa in their previous roles.

“Around 550 Lufthansa pilots will receive financial compensation because they can later be promoted to captain,” as dpa also reported on August 10th.

Lufthansa pilot salary

In what range are Lufthansa's pilot salaries so far?

The Handelsblatt

recently

reported on corresponding figures for pilot salaries.

The

Handelsblatt.com

report from July 21st said, among other things: “According to the company, pilots who fly for the Lufthansa core brand start as first officers with 69,000 euros per year.” As a captain in the highest seniority level, according to

Handelsblatt

“even up to 275,000 euros in it”.

“There is also a profit share if the airline is profitable.

In 2019, a pilot was even able to achieve 287,000 euros.”

Pilot salaries generally depend on several factors, as the

Handelsblatt

report states in principle.

“There is the aircraft they fly, but also the number of years they have worked – the so-called seniority,” the report says, among other things.

The number of block hours flown per month also sometimes plays a role.
