William and Kate are big regulars at the BAFTAs, the equivalent of the Oscars in England.
Yesterday, William made his appearance alone, a first since 2017. This evening was also his first major public appearance since resuming his public functions, after his wife's operation on January 16.

Without elaborating, Prince William mentioned the state of health of the Princess of Wales, telling the organizers that she was disappointed not to be able to attend the ceremony.
"I'm sorry Catherine isn't here, she loves the BAFTAs."
He also admitted to not watching as many films as usual ahead of the ceremony, admitting to having "other things on my mind."

He admitted to being a “big fan” of Christopher Nolan, his director, and that he would be delighted to see him win the film of the year award, it did.
He spoke behind the scenes with many actors and actresses, discussing their films or the power and diversity of the categories awarded during the ceremony.
