"We are in a country where freedom costs money. Without free men and women, democracy cannot live. Today we are entering a climate of indifference; democracy is truly at risk. Be careful".
Thus the president of the Campania Region, Vincenzo De Luca, addressed the students of the De Sanctis high school in Salerno, urging the need to "defend our democracy and ensure that the South is not betrayed by the counter-risorgimento that is taking place in our country".
"There are many ways to empty democracy. It's not necessarily a hard life - he explained - democracy can also die due to exhaustion, due to the indifference of citizens. I fight with you, this is why the role of schools is decisive".
