Ukrainian troops are facing "heavy attacks" from the Russian army which is advancing in the southern region of Zaporizhzhia.
This was declared by the leaders of the armed forces in Kiev after last week Moscow achieved the most significant success on the territory by taking control of Avdiivka, in the eastern Donetsk region, since the capture of Bakhmut in May 2023. The Ukrainian high commander, Oleksandr Tarnavsky, said declared that Russia is launching multiple attacks near the village of Robotyne, one of the few places where Kiev managed to gain ground during the counteroffensive.
