The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is trying to "shed light on the fate of 23,000 people missing" in the conflict between Russia and Ukraine.
"Opened in March 2022, the Office of the Central Research Agency (ACR) of the ICRC for the armed conflict between Russia and Ukraine" is dedicated to searching for those missing on the two fronts of the war, "who have been captured, killed or separated by their loved ones" following the fighting, the Red Cross said in a statement.
