More fear than harm for this baby elephant.
It was rescued while trapped in a well in India on February 16, 2024. The animal strayed from its herd and fell into a pit, six meters deep.
Workers discovered the baby elephant, but were unable to help it because other specimens were roaming the area.
Rescuers then intervened with an excavator.
Objective: dig a path in the earth, so that the baby elephant can find its freedom.

The mission was a success.
After long hours of going in circles, the baby extricated himself from the well.
“When the animal took the passage, we made noise to scare it away into the woods.
During the rescue operation, his herd was spotted near the rubber plantation where he was stuck,” a local source explained.
The little one is not injured and has returned to his herd without incident.
