The war in Gaza creates thoughts of tourism in an unknown land.
The desire to ventilate and change the atmosphere on the one hand, and on the other hand feelings of guilt that accompany this.
Beyond that, many questions arise regarding the holiday of the Israelis in the coming period.
For example, will Am Yisrael go back to vacationing in hotels that need renovation after months of hosting evacuees?
Will you arrive at a hotel where there are evacuees?
For a hotel where some of the rooms are for rent to guests and some are occupied by evacuees?
There is no definitive answer, but there are certainly those who are less suited to being in an atmosphere reminiscent of the war, and for that very reason they went on an airing vacation.
The Eilat Tourism Corporation, a city that has recently been evacuated by the thousands, claims that the Israelis will return despite the high price during Passover and summer.
And by the way Eilat, we also talked about the Arabah which became in demand following the war.
The escape to the desert, certainly in the pleasant winter season there, the silence, the views and the B&Bs that are full.
And on the other hand, what will happen to the great Golan, which is quite abandoned from a tourist point of view, and that is certainly understandable?
We tried to answer these and other questions in the fourth episode of the "Mataka" flood, together with Prof. Yaniv Furia from the Department of Tourism and Leisure at Ben Gurion University.

The Israelis will come to support the Druze villages.

Will you return to travel in the Arab villages?
And what about the Druze?
Following the war and the shared fate of fighting in Gaza and the surrounding area, will you travel more in the Druze and Circassian villages in Israel?
And on the other hand, what is the status of tourist sites in the Arab Muslim and Christian society, such as Nazareth, Sahnin and Baka al-Gharbiyya?
In Poria's opinion, Jewish tourism to the Druze-Circassian villages will increase due to the back-to-back fighting between the Jews and the Druze, who were equal in death (although not always in life).
For example, the warm relationship between the two Major Generals, Lt. Col. Tomer Greenberg and the late Lt. Col. Salman Habka, who fought together and were killed in Gaza, and a conversation between them was documented.
However, tourism to other Arab cities and villages in the country will be significantly reduced.
"In order for them to make me come, they will have to invest in a lot of marketing efforts," says Poria, "There is a lot of fear and when you are afraid you can't spend time and enjoy yourself."
And what do you think?
Answer our two questions in the poll below.
Would you agree to go on vacation in a hotel where there are evacuees?
Yes, they should be considered
prefer not.
I came to rest
