The government announced this with a note on the G7 website, explaining that a joint declaration will be adopted at the end of the summit.

New sanctions on Russia will be on the table of the G7, the first under the Italian presidency, which will take place via video conference in the early afternoon on Saturday, focused on Ukraine and with a speech by Volodymyr Zelensky.
On the second anniversary of the war, the summit, explain Italian diplomatic sources, aims to reaffirm the positions of the G7 and the West on Ukraine and to look ahead also compared to the "false narrative of the tired West".
A tightening of the sanctions system will be discussed, especially to try to close the financing channels to Russia or the exit of energy loads to third countries.
