Appeal to Russian President Vladimir Putin from the mother of Russian dissident

Alexei Navalny

who died in a penal colony in recent days: 'Give me back my son's body'.

Lyudmila Navalnaya

released a video with an appeal to Vladimir Putin to return the body of her son to her.

The message was published by Navalny's team.

Navalny's mother speaks outdoors, in the snow, in front of the IK-3 penal colony, where her son died on February 16.

"For the fifth day I haven't seen him, they don't give me his body and they don't even tell me where he is," says the woman.

"I turn to you, Vladimir Putin - the message continues - the solution to the problem depends only on you. Let me finally see my son. I ask that Alexei's body be handed over immediately so that I can bury him humanely".

The video ends with a shot of the dome of a church on which a cross stands.

The head of Navalny's anti-corruption foundation, Ivan Zhdanov, stressed that a written appeal was submitted to Putin at the same time.

Navalny's widow, Yulia Navalnaya, also asked, writing on who might still ask questions: don't ask about me, ask about Alexei," adds the opponent's wife.

And Platform X suspended and then reactivated Yulia Navalnaya's account.

The first post that can be seen contains the video of Navalny's mother with an appeal to Putin to have the opponent's body delivered to her family.

Meanwhile, Russia does not accept requests for an international investigation into the death of

Alexei Navalny

, especially if they come from

Josep Borrell

.

Kremlin spokesman

Dmitry Peskov

said this , quoted by Tass.

To the words against Putin coming from the widow of the Russian dissident who died in recent days, Peskov responded by calling them "absolutely unfounded and crude accusations against the Russian head of state".

Yulia Navalnaya, who yesterday declared in a video that Putin killed her husband.

Dmitri Peskov also stated that

Putin would not have seen yesterday's video

in which Yulia Navalnaya states that she will continue her husband's work.

"No, the president didn't see it," Peskov said, according to Tass.

For her part, Yulia Navalnaya responded by saying she was not worried about the Kremlin's reaction to her accusation that President Vladimir Putin was behind her death.

“I don't care about how a murderer's press secretary comments on my words,” the dissident's widow, who vowed to continue her husband's work, wrote on X about her.

Yulia Navalnaya also asked the EU not to recognize

the presidential elections

which will take place next month and in which Vladimir Putin is running for a fifth term.

The appeal was launched yesterday in a speech to foreign ministers in Brussels, the contents of which Navalny's team publishes.

“A president who killed his main political opponent cannot be legitimate by definition,” she says Navalnaya.
