The week of Tuscan previews ends today in Florence with L'Altra Toscana, which brings together 18 denominations and 14 protection consortia, with the presentation of the new vintages ready to go on the market.
For tasting, for this third edition of the initiative, over 350 labels that tell different, and sometimes less known, facets of Tuscany winemaking.
"The L'Altra Toscana Association, to date, represents as much as 40% of the regional bottled products - underlines Francesco Mazzei, leader of the Association and president of the Consortium for the protection of wines of Maremma Toscana, leader of the project -. We are excited to see a lot of interest on the part of the press and operators in the sector towards an initiative that we strongly wanted, aware of being able to enrich the wine offering with the innumerable varieties and diversity that characterize us and with ever higher quality peaks regional".
The protagonists are the DOP and IGP wines: Maremma Toscana, Montecucco and Montecucco Sangiovese, Orcia, Cortona, Valdarno di Sopra, Terre di Pisa, Chianti Rufina, Terre di Casole, Grance Senesi, Montescudaio, Suvereto, Val di Cornia and Rosso della Val di Cornia, Carmignano, Barco Reale di Carmignano and Vin Santo di Carmignano and Tuscany.
