In a solemn ceremony yesterday (Monday) a cornerstone was laid for the establishment of the "Tel Hashomer Darom" neighborhood, on one of Ramat Gan's last land reserves.
The "Tel Hashomer Darom" neighborhood is located south of the Sheba Medical Center and north of Route 461, where the purple light rail line will offer two stops in the new neighborhood, with easy and fast access to Tel Aviv, Givatayim and Ramat Gan.
About 12,000 residents are expected to live in the neighborhood, which will include about 3,000 housing units.
In the Ramat Gan municipality, at the same time as the plans for the establishment of the neighborhood, they also promoted planning for the construction of many public buildings in the new urban space, including a large educational complex that includes an innovative high school, schools and kindergartens as well as other buildings for the use of the new residents of the city.
In the heart of the neighborhood, a spacious central longitudinal park will be built, connecting the new neighborhoods with a cafe in the center, fitness facilities, sports fields, various play areas for children and more.
The first residential project in the neighborhood to get off the ground and start construction is "Electra Lifestyle, Park Afel", which includes 495 units on eight different lots. The project is located in the heart of the neighborhood and was built on both sides of the large park in the center.

The "Tel Hashomer Darom" neighborhood is a residential neighborhood with an area of 560 dunams, established as part of the urban master plan and the umbrella agreement of the Ramat Gan municipality with the state, which includes massive development in the entire area of Sheba and Tel Hashomer hospitals and the construction of new residential neighborhoods totaling 14,500 housing units in the area Ramat Gan in the heart of Gush Dan.
Along with the establishment of the new residential neighborhoods in the city and the construction of the Purple Line of the RKK, new employment and commercial areas are currently being established that will include hundreds of thousands of square meters for employment and commerce, and will connect the high-tech and bio-tech industries to Bar Ilan University, Sheba Hospital.
