Prince William, heir to the British throne, today said he was "deeply concerned about the terrible human cost of the conflict in the Middle East", adding - in an unusual intervention for royal protocol - that he was in favor of "a ceasefire as soon as possible " in the Gaza Strip.
The eldest son of King Charles III then stated that "too many people have been killed so far" and spoke of the "desperate need to increase humanitarian aid" to the Palestinian civilian population of the Strip, as well as to obtain "the release of the Israeli hostages".
William's speech, which did not fail to reiterate the condemnation for "the terrible terrorist attack by Hamas" against Israel on 7 October, coincided with the presentation of a series of initiatives by charitable organizations linked to Windsor: initiatives launched to address "the human suffering caused by the conflict in the Middle East" and, at the same time, to "draw attention to the global increase in anti-Semitism", as reported in the previous hours by Kensington Palace.
