Highlights: Quick cake is baked quickly, but eaten even faster. As with the 4-3-2-1 mug cake or the chocolatey 9-spoon cake, all the ingredients for the cake batter are mixed directly in a mixing bowl. Preheat the oven to 180 °C top/bottom heat. Mix all ingredients in a bowl to form a smooth dough. Pour the dough into a greased loaf pan (30 cm) and bake the cake in the preheated oven for about 35 minutes until golden brown.

The quick cake is perfect for a cozy coffee session and a sudden craving for cake.

As with the 4-3-2-1 mug cake or the chocolatey 9-spoon cake, all the ingredients for the cake batter are mixed directly in a mixing bowl.

Once this is done, the cake can grow to its full glory in the oven while you are already setting the table for the guests waiting to arrive.

Soon the sweet smell of cake wafts through the apartment and the anticipation increases.  

A simple icing of lemon juice and powdered sugar gives the quick cake a sweet and sour finish.

The following ingredients are required for the uncomplicated quick cake:

  • 100g flour

  • 100 g cornstarch

  • 175g sugar

  • 1 packet of vanilla sugar

  • 200 ml neutral oil (e.g. sunflower oil)

  • 4 eggs

  • 1.5 packets of baking powder

Preparing the quick cake doesn't take much time:

  • Preheat the oven to 180 °C top/bottom heat.

  • Mix all ingredients in a bowl to form a smooth dough.

    Pour the dough into a greased loaf pan (30 cm) and bake the cake in the preheated oven for about 35 minutes until golden brown.

  • Before serving, decorate as desired with a glaze of powdered sugar and lemon juice or a chocolate icing and enjoy.

  • When it comes to quick cakes, the name says it all.

    The dough is quickly mixed together and can go straight into the oven.
