Smog indicators are splashing in the heart of the Po Valley: in Emilia, levels of PM10 particulate matter (which also includes PM2.5 dust) have been recorded, more than double the daily threshold indicated by law, which is 50 micrograms per cubic meter.
For ten days out of 14 this limit was far exceeded in the Piacenza area, with a peak of 119 (yesterday), and in the Modena area, with a maximum of 111 (Saturday).
The 119 micrograms in Piacenza are the highest value recorded in the region since the beginning of the year.
Modena, on the other hand, is already at 29 daily exceedances of the limit, very close to the threshold of 35 annual exceedances indicated by the EU.
