The Superior Council of the UBA expressed the "
state of extreme concern of the university community
" and asked the rector Ricardo Gelpi to manage before the Government the update of the funds destined for the operating expenses of the university, together with the update of the items linked to Health, teaching joint ventures and research.
The measure comes because the entity
is currently operating with the 2023 budget
.
According to its authorities, operating expenses suffered an increase "well above 200% last year and 50% accumulated for the December - January two-month period; without prejudice to those expenses linked to the health function that registered increases well above the aforementioned values, reaching in some cases interannual growth of 1000%".
The Superior Council of the UBA unanimously approved a resolution that expresses its extreme concern about the budgetary situation of the University.
