Rolling over in his grave?/GettyImages, Chris Jackson
About a week ago we learned that Prince Harry and his lover Meghan Markle decided to change the surname of their children Archie (4) and Lilibeth (2)
to "Sussex
" instead of "
Mountbatten-Windsor
" - a change made with the aim of reuniting their family.
A few days have passed since the decision of the Dukes of Sussex and as expected, rumors, reports and interpretations of royal affairs overseas have already begun.
"This nickname would have pissed off the late
Prince Philip
if he was still alive," commented one of them to the New York Post.

Prince Philip's sinister nickname for Meghan Markle has been revealed

As you remember, Prince Philip, Queen Elizabeth's husband died in 2021 at the age of 99 and was Prince Harry's grandfather.
Before that he was called the 'Duke of Edinburgh' and the surname of Mountbatten-Windsor has been given to his descendants from the male line since 1960. Another royal expert also wrote to the Daily Mail that Harry's choice was very angry and annoying to the late Greek prince and apparently he is "turning in his grave" over the decision.
To all this positivity, she added that Harry's decision "will only serve to further distance the prince and his children" from the royal set-up.
This would not be the first time that a change was made in the family names of the royal family.
When the late Elizabeth became Queen in 1952, Philip was "hurt" that his children would be Windsors instead of Mountbatten.
Another concession to the right of Prince Philip, was after he married Queen Elizabeth when he renounced the Greek throne and adopted his mother's last name, Mountbatten.
"How sad, then, that three generations later, Harry is blatantly ignoring his grandfather's wishes and effectively abandoning the family name that Philip fought for," the experts added.
