Although Javier Milei refused to do so, the national government convened the teaching unions to discuss the national parity of the sector.
The appointment will be on Tuesday at 6:00 p.m., in the building of the now Ministry of Labor.
The meeting, which will be held "according to current regulations", will also include the Secretary of Education, the ministers of education of the provinces and the city of Buenos Aires, all as part of the Federal Council of Education.
The call to the teaching unions with national representation will be "to begin dialogues in order to agree on the national framework agreement for the minimum teacher salary," the ministry indicated.
Likewise, representative groups of educational entities in the privately managed public education sector will be present as guests.
The Ministry of Education had told
Clarín
a week ago that it would call a meeting to discuss the national teacher parity.
But later Milei publicly disavowed and denied that this negotiation had begun.
"Education depends on the provinces, they have to decide. What do I have to do as a Nation getting involved? Education, security and health are up to the provinces," the President said at the time, in an interview on Radio
Rivadavia
.
In addition, he emphasized his position: "We have one thing that we don't like about setting minimum prices. Why is a politician going to set a price?"
