The British military armaments giant BAE Systems today announced a 17% increase in net profit in 2023, to almost 2 billion pounds (2.2 billion euros), thanks to orders for military aid destined for Ukraine, which is engaged in the war against Russia, which sees the United Kingdom as one of the main supplier countries.
This is what we read in a company note, according to which revenues rose by 9% to 23 billion pounds (27 billion euros).
“Our performance, combined with our global presence and record order intake, means we are well positioned for sustained growth over the coming years,” said chief executive Charles Woodburn.
Bae Systems highlighted that its order book reached a record high of almost 70 billion pounds (82 billion euros) last year.
At the beginning of this month, the British giant completed the acquisition of the American company Ball Aerospace from Ball Corporation for approximately 5.5 billion dollars (5 billion euros), which specializes in the aerospace sector and whose main customers include the Department of Defense of the United States.
