The Court of Assizes of Appeal of Milan has sentenced Davide Fontana to life imprisonment, the 45-year-old banker who on 11 January 2022 killed his ex-girlfriend Carol Maltesi in her home in Rescaldina, in the Milan area, first hitting her in the head with a hammer and then cutting her throat.
In the first instance he was sentenced to 30 years.
