The Milan Court of Assizes of Appeal has sentenced Davide Fontana to life imprisonment, the 45-year-old banker who on 11 January 2022 killed his ex-girlfriend CarolMaltesi in her home in Rescaldina, in the Milan area, first hitting her in the head with a hammer and then cutting her throat.
He had been sentenced to 30 years in the first instance.
The Court, in sentencing Fontana to life imprisonment, recognized the aggravating circumstances of premeditation and cruelty, which had been found in the first degree.
For this the man was sentenced to thirty years and not to life imprisonment.
