After winning the Bafta as best actress for Poor Creatures!
Emma Stone is in negotiations to reteam with Yorgos Lanthimos on the English remake of South Korean sci-fi comedy Save the Green Planet.
Filming - Variety has learned exclusively - should begin in the summer in Great Britain and New York based on a screenplay by Will Tracy whose credits include the scripts for Succession for HBO and The Menu for Searchlight.
Save the Green Planet follows a young man disillusioned with life who kidnaps and tortures a businessman he believes is part of an invasion of extraterrestrials.
Stone, if the deal goes through for what would be her sixth collaboration with Lanthimos, would have a supporting role.
Emma and Yorgos filmed The Favorite together while Kinds of Kindness, an anthology in which Jesse Plemons, Willem Dafoe and Margaret Qualley also star, is about to be released in 2024 (it could debut at Cannes).
Poor Creatures!
meanwhile it is marching towards the Oscars with eleven nominations including best film, director, actress and supporting actor.
On Sunday, Stone won the Baftas for best leading actress.
