In our employment market, according to 2022 data, some sectors present "a high rate of feminization", equal to approximately 79% in healthcare, 77% in education, and 53% in the hospitality sector (housing and catering ), while women are "under-represented in the manufacturing segment (around 30%)".
This is what emerged today in a conference held at Palazzo Wedekind, in Rome, organized by the INPS Steering and Supervision Committee, which put the spotlight on the gender gaps in the labor market and in the social security system, highlighting how, "over the course of the last ten years, the percentage of women employed in the private non-agricultural sector has increased marginally", given that "the rate of feminisation, calculated as the percentage of female workers compared to the total employed, has gone from 40.6% in 2010 to 41.7 % in 2022".
And, in general, however, there is a lack of 'pink' presence in the top and most remunerative positions: in 2022, in fact, "only 21% of managers and managers are female, a percentage which was 13% in 2010" .
Therefore, "the male earnings advantage in annual earnings is around 40% - without major changes in the last 10 years - while it drops to around 30% for daily earnings".
